Twenty youth members of the Young Marines program – ten boys and ten girls - are traveling from across the nation to New York City in March to participate in a conference held by the United Nations Office of the Commission on the Status of Women at United Nations headquarters. Fifteen Young Marines from Prescott, Arizona(Central Arizona unit) spent nearly a year fundraising in order to travel to Washington D.C. during inauguration week. Young Marines units from across the nation travel to Hawaii for 50th anniversary of dedication of USS Arizona memorial site

Sixty-eight youth members of the Young Marines from 11 states will travel to Hawaii to participate in the 71st anniversary Pearl Harbor Day Commemoration which includes the 50th anniversary of the dedication of the USS Arizona memorial site and the 71st anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor. In addition, 22 adult volunteers for the Young Marines will accompany the youth members.

All year long members of the Young Marines celebrate America's veterans, annually reaching more than 30,000 men and women who have served in the armed forces. In recognition of Veteran's Day, the Young Marines have set aside an entire week – Nov. 3 -12, 2012 – as its 12th annual "Veterans Appreciation Week."
