By YM/LCpl Jaime Mendez Eagle (CA) In May, 2018 the Eagle Young Marines supported Armed Forces Appreciation Day. We set up our Drug Demand Re- duction Display on a “Deuce and a Half” truck (military jar- gon for a two and a half ton truck). There were many mili- tary static displays, including Amtraks, Amphibious Assault Vehicles, Landing Craft, Air Cushion, Light Armored Recon- naissance Vehicles and many more. The Eagle Young Marines were present at our DDR dis- play table. Our Young Marines took turns checking out the different military displays. When we spoke to Marines we thanked them for their service. Many parents and their kids stopped to ask us how to join the Young Marines and we were also able to give examples of the great training and what it meant to us, living a drug free lifestyle. We distrib- uted a lot of flyers about the Young Marines program. It was a beautiful day with lots of smiles from everyone. It was really awesome seeing all the people coming and showing appreciation for our Armed Forces.
