Sign-up begins on January 3, 2017 National Leadership Academy: A leadership program for Young Marines who will have the opportunity to enhance their leadership skills. They can bring back necessary leadership skill to use in their units. National Encampment (Return for 2017) The purpose of the Young Marine National Encampment is to provide a wilderness adventure for Young Marines to experience away from their home unit. ! National Flight Academy The National Flight Academy brings the latest in multisensory media and simulation technologies to create an immersive naval aviator experience like none other aboard the world’s only virtual land-locked aircraft carrier. Orme ADVENTURE This adventure is going to be an exciting time for the Young Marines and Registered Adults involved. The Young Marines will be set up in tribes with tribal competitions, teamwork and camaraderie. NRA Instructors Course (NEW) Two Registered Adults from each Division will be selected to attend official National Rifle Association Instructors Course. This will provide each Division with additional resources to conduct marksmanship and firearms safety classes. ! Great American History Adventure – (GAHA) This is an education program designed to stimulate an interest in, and respect for the history and traditions from the first settlements to the Revolutionary War and independence of the United States. ! Sailing Adventure Young Marines will be able to learn through this adventurous sailing activity the necessity of boating and personal safety, Coast Guard regulations, planning a boat trip and how to properly handle a sailing vessel. ! SCUBA Diver Course (Return) The SCUBA Adventure gives Young Marines the opportunity to become thoroughly qualified in the “Aquatic” environment. Young Marines will be taught in the classroom, pool and ocean. Once the Young Marine has completed this course they will obtain their Open Water & Advanced Diver certifications. FEMA CERT Adventure The purpose of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) School is to help citizens understand their responsibility in preparing for disaster. It also increases their ability to safely help themselves, their family and their neighbors. Registered Adult Leadership Academy (RALA) (NEW) The purpose of the Registered Adult Leadership Academy (RALA) is to provide instruction and guidance to our volunteers with little or no military experience.
