Forty-eight recruits of Recruit Class X-Ray became Young Marines on this night, carrying on the tradi- tion of unbuttoning their top blouse button. Over the years,we have been honored with many distin- guished guest speakers, including three-star generals. That said, this graduation was particularly special. Our guest speaker was National Young Marine of the Year SgtMaj Joseph J. Bacon of the Division 1 Westover Young Ma- rines. The National Young Marine of the Year is a shining ex- ample of what any of our recent graduates can achieve with hard work, dedication and commitment. Also, honored guest, National Executive Director Colonel William Davis was in house. Colonel Davis was kind enough to fit us in during his busy trip around the country visiting the various SPACES events. We wish to thank Colonel Davis and NYMOY SgtMaj Bacon for honoring us with their pres- ence.A special thank you to JPSO Sheriff Newell Normand for his continued interest and unwavering support in the Young Marines program.
